The annual ICAST is a tradition initiated 19 years ago by the Chinese American professionals in the Greater Chicago area. This annual gathering provides an international forum for presentations and discussions of a) the latest developments and trends in telecommunications and related technologies and b) future financial models in idealistic economic topography. Scientists, industrial practitioners as well as policy makers come together for a full day of the free exchange of ideas with the aim to promote cross-field interactions and collaboration among academic and industrial participants. This year¡¦s meeting will be held on September 10, 2005, at Chicago State University¡¦s Student Union Building at 9501 S. King Dr., Chicago, IL 60628. This year¡¦s program will focus on ¡§Advances in Telecommunications, Computing and Striving for Economic & Financial Goal.¡¨ The program will cover, but is not limited to, the following two topics:

(A)     Advances in Computing and Telecommunications

¡P   Computing Education and Job Market

¡P   Internet Technologies

¡P   Satellite Communications

¡P   Intelligent Network

¡P   Broadband Access and Transmission

¡P   Network Security

¡P   Wireless 3G and 4G Networks

¡P   Network Planning and Management

 

(B)     Economic models and Financial Planning

¡P   The Economic Development for ROC and PROC

¡P   Is Hedge Fund for Everyone

¡P   Financial & Estate Planning

Format of the Meeting

The conference language is English, and the scientific section of the meeting will include two parallel sessions that address the two main topics outlined above. Each session will consist of 6 to 8 seminars presented by invited speakers (the list of speakers will be announced in our forthcoming meeting update). As in previous ICAST meetings, seminar speakers are requested to submit an English abstract of 200-400 words. Each submission must include the title, the author¡¦s name, affiliation, mailing address, email, and telephone numbers. Please make your submission in electronic form via email as embedded plain text or as an attached Word file to either of the Technical Program Chairs at the following addresses no later than July 30, 2005.
