ICAST has become a tradition in the Greater Chicago area. This annual international conference provides a technical forum for researchers, industrial practitioners, policy makers, and students to exchange ideas, share research finding, and discuss many issues they encounter.  The main theme for ICAST 2002 is High Technologies to Start the New Millennium”.  This theme emphasizes technologies that will have potentially great impacts in the next 10 to 15 years. INFORMATION FOR PANEL ORGANIZERS

Panel sessions on important topics will be held in parallel with the paper sessions.  Interesting topics may include (but are not limited to): E-Commerce, Anti-Terrorism Technologies, Genetic Food, Next Generation Communication Networks. Organizers should submit panel proposals, including the title, a 150-word scope statement, proposed chair and participants, their affiliations, and the organizer’s contact details. 

INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS

The conference language is English and all papers must be written in English.  Authors are requested to submit an extended abstract of 500-1500 words that should be clear and informative, containing (a) a title with names and affiliations of authors, (b) specific objectives of the study, (c) approaches and methods, (d) a summary of the results, and (e) the conclusions.  Survey, implementation, and experimental research papers are also welcome.  A submission letter must accompany the extended abstract containing (a) conference tracks relevant to the paper, (b) mail/e-mail addresses and telephone number of the principal author.

IMPORTANT DATES

March 15, 2002:  Deadline for all submissions

April 30, 2002: Principal authors and panel organizers notified of acceptance.  Authors will be provided with instructions for paper format.

July 15, 2002:  Deadline for camera-ready copies of accepted papers, panel organizers’ scope statements, and panel participants’ position papers.
